Responsibilities
- Safely operate various commercial vehicles, including box trucks and other delivery vans, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload goods using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual lifting techniques, ensuring items are handled with care.
- Plan efficient delivery routes to maximize productivity and meet delivery schedules.
- Deliver products directly to customers’ locations, providing courteous and professional service at all times.
- Verify delivery accuracy by inspecting shipments against invoices and documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance needs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during routes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, preferably with box trucks or similar commercial vehicles.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with route driving, load & unload procedures, and traffic regulations.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks safely and efficiently.
- Experience operating forklifts or pallet jacks is advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude.
- Knowledge of manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
