Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman/Journeywoman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive electrical expertise, including industrial and commercial electrical experience, and be capable of working on diverse construction and renovation projects. This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems in various settings, ensuring compliance with safety standards and electrical codes such as NEC. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency with hand tools, power tools, schematics, blueprints, and specialized testing equipment like ohmmeters. A strong background in low and high voltage systems, blueprint reading, and schematics interpretation is essential. Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain rooftop solar in commercial setting,
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and construction environments
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to ensure accurate wiring and system setup
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using testing devices such as ohmmeters and multimeters
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, and high voltage circuits to ensure proper operation
- Perform wiring of control panels, switchgear, transformers, and other electrical components
- Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with NEC standards and safety regulations
- Assist in renovation projects by updating or replacing existing electrical infrastructure
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to complete installations and repairs
- Collaborate with construction teams on site to coordinate electrical work within project timelines
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed for compliance and future reference
Skills
- Proven experience as an industrial or commercial electrician with a strong understanding of electrical systems
- Proficiency in understanding and wiring SolarEdge PV systems, trouble shooting and startup
- Installing roofing anchors and racking on multiple different roofing types, in various slopes.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low/high voltage systems
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment such as ohmmeters effectively
- Knowledge of NEC standards and electrical codes applicable to various projects
- Construction site experience including framing carpentry and renovation work is preferred
- Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing electrical issues quickly and accurately
- Ability to interpret schematics for complex wiring configurations
- Maintenance Person skills or frame carpentry experience are advantageous for versatile project support
- Excellent safety awareness with a focus on adhering to industry standards for high-voltage work
