Role:
We invite enthusiastic, dedicated, and creative individuals with a passion for educating and nurturing young minds to join our after-school team. Your role goes beyond supervision; it involves engaging, inspiring, and ensuring the holistic growth of our students.
Key Details:
- Compensation: Starting at $20-25/hr
- Hours: 4 weekdays 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM
- Prospect: Option to sub during the daytime
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervise groups of students within the afterschool program serving PreK 3 - 8th graders.
- Uphold and extend the school’s core philosophy and values in the after-school setting
- Plan and execute diverse activities, ensuring they cater to the varied abilities of students, promoting their overall development
- Implement effective classroom management and positive discipline strategies
- Foster open communication with students, families, colleagues, and management
- Participate in mandatory meetings, training sessions, and select events
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and other pertinent information
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a similar role; working with PreK3 - 8th grade students in schools, after-school programs, or camps
- At least 3 references, including 2 from previous employment supervisors
- High School diploma/GED; degrees in Childhood Education or Development are a plus
- Adept at managing groups, promoting participation, and ensuring safety
- Excellent communication, open-mindedness, and a good dose of humor!
- Physically fit, able to navigate stairs frequently, stand extendedly, and lift up to 40 pounds
Brownie Points for:
- Proficiency in Greek language and culture
- Certifications in First Aid, CPR/AED, and Epipen administration
