Transportation Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:

Seeking a highly organized and experienced Transportation Supervisor to assist and support the transportation manager in day-to-day operations and be front-line support for drivers. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen attention to detail, and a deep understanding of transportation. They will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of all daily activities, including coordinating transportation schedules, routing, maintaining compliance with safety and DOT regulations as determined necessary by the Transportation Manager. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate records and reports related to terminal activities.
• Ensure compliance with all DOT and safety regulations and company policies.
• Train and monitor procedures to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and record for company KPI’s.
• Assist with overseeing the day-to-day operations of transportation, including scheduling, dispatching, routing, and day to day driver support.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the transportation industry.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations    
• Class A required with doubles endorsement or able to obtain endorsement in 60 days
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and industry best practices.
• Proficiency in relevant computer applications and software.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit for extended periods of time, bend, twist, squat, climb in and out of truck

• Physical ability to lift, carry, and position:  up to 30 lbs. regularly, up to 50 lbs. frequently, and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
• Must be able to constantly bend, reach above shoulder, grasp objects, climb, kneel, squat, twist and stand throughout shift.
• Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls.
• Working in multiple environments and inclement weather

Work Environment:

• Work hours may vary, or change based on department requirements (50 hours average work week).
• Required to use motor coordination with arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity.
• Will be exposed to a physical environment, which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements most of the workday.
