Sanitation / Janitorial Associate (Nightshift)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for cleaning, sanitation, and grounds appearance of all buildings and facilities. Maintain a safe, orderly, and efficient cleaning operation. Being a Janitorial Associate, you will need to be a working team member that will coordinate with the Janitorial Supervisor to maintain a clean and safe facility for all employees and customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Cleans up any spills or breakages to inventoried products; recoups damages and reports to Inventory Control to determine resale ability or proper disposal.
• Checking freezer and cooler for leaks or ice buildup remove as necessary.
• Prepares various reports and forms to document cleaning schedule, daily sanitation log, spillages, product damage, for evaluation of planning and sanitation activities.
• Cleaning other areas of the warehouse and offices including but not limited to, breakrooms, restrooms, test kitchen, and closets.
• Maintain facility grounds cleanliness including but not limited to; dumpster area, parking lots, and sidewalks weekly or as needed to maintain appearance.
• Understand and comply with all applicable company policies.
• Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• HS Diploma or equivalent,
• Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must have very strong urgency in meeting objectives and deadlines.
• Requires the ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form. 
• Ability to complete tasks under standardized situations with occasional variables.

Physical Requirements:

• Physical ability to lift, carry, and position:  up to 20 lbs. regularly, up to 50 lbs. frequently, and up to 80 lbs. occasionally.
• Must be able to constantly bend, reach above shoulder, grasp objects, climb, kneel, squat, twist and stand throughout shift.
• Must be able to push/pull up to 150 lbs. occasionally
• Confident and comfortable operating equipment at heights up to 30 feet
• Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls.
• Working in multiple environments including office and ambient refrigeration and freezer areas

Work Environment:

• Work hours may vary, or change based on department requirements.
• The job is primarily performed in a warehouse environment
• Regularly exposed to fast moving material handling and other mechanical equipment.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and or humid conditions, high and precarious places, vehicle emissions, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions and high voltage electrical equipment.
• The noise level in the work environment is typically low.
