What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fire Sprinkler Designer position at A & F Fire Protection Co., Inc.?
We are seeking a skilled Fire Sprinkler Designer with a minimum of 3 years of experience in designing fire sprinkler and fire standpipe systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of NFPA 13, NFPA 14, NFPA 20, and preferably NYC building codes. This role involves working on various project types, including commercial, industrial, mixed-use, educational, and medical facilities, and requires occasional travel to project sites. The designer will report to the Lead Engineer and utilize advanced design software such as AutoCAD, Sprink-CAD, Autosprink, and HydraCAD.
Responsibilities
- Design fire sprinkler and fire standpipe systems
- Develop system layouts and ensure code compliance
- Review and approve fire protection plans
- Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation
- Collaborate effectively with engineers, clients, and project teams
- Conduct technical analysis to optimize system performance
- Ensure quality assurance standards are met throughout design phases
- Coordinate design efforts with BIM integration
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding design and project status
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in fire sprinkler system design
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of NFPA 13, NFPA 14, and NFPA 20 standards
- Experience with fire sprinkler and fire standpipe system design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and related design software
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Salary : $85,000 - $135,000
