Responsibilities
- Operate CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and other machining equipment efficiently and accurately.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine machining requirements.
- Program CNC machines using CAD (Computer-Aided Design), CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing), and CNC programming software to produce complex parts.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production flow.
- Conduct quality inspections using coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and other measurement tools to verify part dimensions against specifications.
- Maintain safety protocols by adhering to all safety procedures, including proper tooling setup and machine guarding practices.
- Collaborate with team members on tooling selection, setup adjustments, and process improvements for optimal machining performance.
- Support 3D printing initiatives by preparing models and integrating additive manufacturing processes when applicable.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment to ensure peak operational performance.
- Follow manufacturing schematics and schematics for wiring or mechanical assembly as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC milling machines and CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Proficiency in CNC programming using CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam or SolidWorks CAM modules.
- Familiarity with equipment troubleshooting techniques to identify and resolve machine issues swiftly.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to machining operations, welding, and handling of tooling materials.
- Experience working with coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for precise quality control inspections.
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing schematics, tooling diagrams, and technical schematics effectively.
- Basic understanding of 3D printing processes as they relate to manufacturing applications is a plus.
