Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, including electrical systems, air brakes, hydraulics, and transmissions using OEM schematics and advanced diagnostic tools.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire services, brake repairs, suspension adjustments, and alignment checks to keep equipment in peak condition.
- Troubleshoot and repair heavy construction machinery including forklifts, loaders, tractors, and other farm or industrial equipment.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, cutting, soldering, and power tools to ensure proper fit and function.
- Assemble new equipment or repair existing units by following detailed schematics and technical manuals while adhering to safety standards.
- Test repaired machinery through operational checks and road tests; perform heavy lifting when required for component replacement or assembly.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports for all repairs performed to ensure compliance with safety regulations and OEM standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership experience preferred; strong background in heavy equipment servicing is essential.
- Extensive knowledge of construction machinery maintenance including forklifts, tractors-trailers, and other industrial equipment.
- Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, hydraulics troubleshooting, HVAC systems for heavy machinery, and schematics interpretation.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other maintenance tools necessary for complex repairs.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately; experience with OEM parts is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills; capable of performing heavy lifting safely.
- Valid certifications in diesel engine repair, air brake systems, suspension alignment, tire service or related fields are advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on safety procedures; ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
