Role Description
• Provides estimating services, including conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction-level estimates.
• Performs preconstruction services.
• Develops and/or understands the full parameters of the project scope.
• Performs bidding and estimating project lead tasks and presents estimates to clients.
• Achieves consensus with customers relative to the project scope.
• Develops a basis of scope for bidding and estimating purposes.
• Qualifies all estimates and bids relative to scope.
• Manages workloads according to department deadlines, commitments, and priorities.
• Fosters positive relationships with internal and external customers, subcontractors, and design professionals.
• Assists in value engineering and constructability analysis.
• Assists in the buyout process for successful lump sum bids.
Qualifications
• Minimum 4–7 years of commercial construction estimating experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or other relevant degree.
• Demonstrated conceptual and lump sum estimating experience, with the ability to lead the estimating process on projects; estimating projects exceeding $20MM preferred.
• Proficient knowledge of estimating processes, technology, and related industry trends.
• Successful leadership, decision-making, sound judgment, and delegation skills.
• Advanced computer software skills, including MS Office, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, and related software (i.e., Prolog Manager, Timberline, MC2, Bid Fax, Primavera) or similar database software.
• Comprehensive understanding of trades, scopes, timelines, and scheduling/sequencing of work.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required.
• Outstanding time management, organization, prioritization, attention to detail, and multitasking skills required.
