Duties
Support lead plumbers by preparing work sites and organizing tools and materials needed for plumbing tasks. Assist with the installation of pipes, fixtures, and appliances following blueprints, schematics, and technical instructions. Use hand tools, power tools, pipe threading equipment, and welding equipment safely and effectively under supervision. Help measure and cut pipes accurately using basic math skills to ensure proper fit and alignment. Read and interpret construction blueprints, schematics, and HVAC plans to understand project requirements. Assist with the assembly of plumbing components, fixtures, and related mechanical systems during remodeling or maintenance projects. Support on-site safety protocols by maintaining a clean work environment and adhering to safety guidelines. Participate in field service activities such as troubleshooting plumbing issues or performing routine maintenance tasks. Learn to read construction plans and schematics to better understand project scope and technical specifications. Help with carpentry tasks related to plumbing installations or site preparations as needed. Contribute to the installation of HVAC systems or other mechanical components when required. Assist with pipe threading, fitting, and assembly processes while developing mechanical knowledge. Support maintenance person tasks including minor repairs or remodeling projects to broaden your skill set.
Experience
Previous experience in construction or related fields is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key! Familiarity with construction site environments ensures you can adapt quickly to dynamic work conditions. Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, or pipe threading is a plus. Basic knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, HVAC systems, or mechanical concepts will accelerate your growth in this role. Experience in maintenance, remodeling, or general maintenance person work demonstrates versatility and a proactive attitude toward problem-solving.
