Established in 2006, our practice has built a long-standing reputation for clinical excellence and compassionate care in pelvic floor rehabilitation, pregnancy-related care, bowel and bladder, cancer rehabilitation, lymphedema, osteoporosis and general orthopedic rehabilitation, fitness and wellness.
Position Overview
This is an independent contractor position offering a unique opportunity for a skilled PTA to strengthen their clinical expertise, build confidence in one-on-one patient care, and grow under the mentorship of an experienced and highly respected female business owner and Physical Therapist. Ideally, this role evolve to full or part-time.
We are seeking a motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to serve as the primary therapist in our newly established Bone Building Program - designed specifically for women of all ages with a focus on perimenopause and beyond. This program consists of 45-minute appointments scheduled several times per day and across multiple days per week. Sessions may be conducted privately or in small groups. The PTA will be responsible for accurate data collection to support ongoing research and program development.
Since this role will expand and further integrate within our well-respected outpatient team, a strong interest in women’s health and pelvic floor rehabilitation is highly desirable. We are especially interested in candidates who bring experience and skills in online marketing, videography and editing.
We also have a need for a certified Pilates instructor to run our private Rehabilitative Pilates program.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, instruction, and ongoing development of a specialized osteoporosis exercise program for women
- Deliver one-on-one physical therapy sessions under the guidance of the owner/lead PT
- Independently manage client care with professionalism, sensitivity, and discretion
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all treatment sessions; communicate regularly with the supervising PT
- Formulate and implement exercise programs tailored to patient needs
- Collaborate in treatment planning, patient education, and team meetings to support best practices and clinical growth
- Assist with the creation of online and social media content through skills in marketing, videography, and editing
- Demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and follow-through in completing projects and embracing new approaches as the practice evolves
- Support daily office management and administrative tasks, including patient check-in/check-out, payment processing, scheduling, room preparation, medical records, light cleaning, and on-site linen laundering
Schedule
- Contract, flexible schedule
- Must be available for some mornings, early evenings, and occasional Saturday mornings
Requirements
- Professionalism, compassion, and a commitment to excellence in patient care
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while maintaining clear, ongoing communication with supervising PT
- Prior outpatient experience preferred, especially in pelvic health
- Experience in online marketing, videography, and/or editing a plus
- Valid Connecticut PTA license
- Professional Liability Insurance
- Interest or experience in therapeutic exercise programming for osteoporosis
- Certification in Reformer Pilates or a willingness to seek training is a plus
