The ideal candidate will work closely with government entities to ensure A&D Mortgage stays compliant, informed, and strategically aligned with federal and state policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze federal and state legislative and regulatory developments affecting the mortgage industry, including housing finance, consumer protection, and financial services policy.
- Develop and distribute regular reports that translate complex policy issues into actionable insights for leadership and key business units.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and executive teams to align company strategy with changing legislative landscapes.
- Build and maintain relationships with policymakers, trade associations, and regulatory bodies to advocate for industry interests.
- Support strategic initiatives and planning by identifying policy trends, risks, and opportunities that could affect business operations.
- Participate in industry coalitions and represent A&D Mortgage in relevant forums, hearings, and working groups.
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Business, Law, or related field
- 3 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or a related field, preferably within financial services or housing
- Strong understanding of the legislative and regulatory process at federal and state levels
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to distill complex legal and policy issues
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver timely, high-quality work
- Strong interpersonal skills with experience engaging with government officials and advocacy groups
