Overview

Duties
- Prepare and submit accurate billing claims to insurance companies and patients.
- Review patient records for completeness and accuracy prior to billing.
- Utilize coding systems such as ICD-9 and DRG to ensure proper billing practices.
- Follow up on outstanding claims and manage accounts receivable.
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim denials or discrepancies.
- Maintain organized medical records and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Assist in resolving billing inquiries from patients or healthcare providers.
- Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical billing, including familiarity with medical collections and coding.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, office systems, and procedures related to healthcare billing.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems for managing patient information.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
