Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Preschool Assistant to support early childhood education in a nurturing classroom environment. Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in planning and executing age-appropriate lessons aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy education, math, and behavior management strategies.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a structured, safe, and welcoming environment for children.
- Engage children in educational activities that promote social-emotional development, literacy skills, and early numeracy concepts.
- Provide attentive supervision during playtime, mealtime, nap time, and other daily routines.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by implementing individualized strategies and working with specialists when necessary.
- Help with classroom organization, including lesson planning, materials preparation, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Foster positive interactions among children to encourage social skills and cooperative behavior.
- Communicate effectively with parents and team members regarding children's progress and classroom activities.
- Assist in behavior management techniques tailored to individual children's needs, including working with children on the autism spectrum or with other developmental differences.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles, Montessori methods, or similar educational philosophies is advantageous.
- Familiarity with special education practices, behavior management strategies, and working with children with autism or disabilities is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and children.
- Experience in lesson planning and curriculum development for preschool-aged learners.
- Ability to manage a classroom environment using effective classroom management techniques.
- Childcare certification or relevant coursework in early childhood education is desirable.
