Contract: 191 Days

Primary Purpose: 

Oversee and ensure that all Campus BE Programs are implemented.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred) with Bilingual (EC-6) Certification. Biliterate Spanish/English. Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience: Minimum three years of successful teaching experience in a BE classroom at multiple elementary grade levels.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Provide leadership for the development, articulation and implementation of the BE program.

• Meet with BE staff regularly and assist teachers in utilizing data and resources to make instructional decisions in order to accomplish program goals
• Conduct interventions for students
• Monitor and follow up BE students' performance (including monitored students)
• Conduct PD sessions for staff (TELPAS, LPAC, ELPS)
• Attend LPAC and ARD meetings of BESL students
• Administer LAS test to identify language proficiency of new students
• Oversee the administration, collection, and assembling of TELPAS
• Attend Grade Level / Leadership meetings and report to BE Coordinator
• Attend required Department trainings (Home Office, Region 10, Edugence)
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state and district mandates and guidelines
• Ensure teachers use software to identify the students in the classroom and input EL accommodations
• Meet with Specialty Clerk. Distribute and collect parent notification letters
• Attend STAAR Accommodations Meeting for ELs
• Assist Principals with staffing BE positions
• Assist teachers with Language Objectives using ELPS and conduct walk-throughs with school administration
• Assist BE Coordinators with PBMAS and TEA Waiver.
• Distribute letters, create rosters, and provide materials for Summer School for ELs (Pre-K and Kinder)
• Assist with Parent, Family and Community outreach activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Campus Principal and BE Coordinator

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds) 

Environment: Frequent districtwide travel; occasional statewide travel
