Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of tree climbers and grounds maintenance staff during various landscaping, tree care, and hardscaping projects
- Safely operate climbing gear, rigging equipment, and ground tools to perform pruning, trimming, removals, and planting tasks
- Manage project timelines, assign tasks effectively, and ensure quality standards are met throughout each job
- Conduct thorough site assessments to identify hazards, plant health issues, or landscape needs; communicate findings clearly to team members
- Maintain all safety protocols and ensure crew compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies
- Assist with equipment maintenance, including groundskeeping tools, landscaping machinery, and company vehicles
- Support additional landscaping duties such as lawn care, irrigation management, hardscaping construction projects, and general grounds maintenance as needed
Skills
- Proven experience in tree care including pruning, trimming, removal, and plant identification
- Strong background in landscape maintenance, horticulture, gardening, and groundskeeping practices
- Demonstrated leadership with supervising teams in outdoor or construction environments
- Skilled in operating grounds maintenance equipment such as chainsaws, stump grinders, irrigation systems, and landscaping tools
- Knowledge of hardscaping construction projects including pavers, retaining walls, walkways and other hardscape elements
- Ability to operate company vehicles safely for transporting crew members and equipment
- Excellent communication skills for team management and client interactions; ability to assess site conditions accurately
- Physical stamina for outdoor work in varying weather conditions; experience with outdoor work safety standards
