PCA Personal Care Assistant

Summary

As a Personal Care Assistant, you will be essential in delivering compassionate care and support to individuals in various settings, including home and community care environments. Your core skills in caregiving will be complemented by premium skills such as patient observation and first aid, ensuring the well-being of those you assist. You will help clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) while maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Duties

• Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
• Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and update patient records as necessary.
• Support the mobility of patients by safely lifting and transferring them as needed.
• Foster a positive environment for patients by offering emotional support and encouragement.

Experience

• Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Familiarity with geriatrics and the unique needs of elderly patients is advantageous.
• Knowledge of medical documentation practices and HIPAA compliance is essential.
• Experience in patient service roles that involve direct interaction with patients is highly valued.
• Proficiency in monitoring vital signs and administering medications is a plus.
