Position Summary
The Mentor provides individualized guidance, support, and skill-building services to youth and/or adults in home, school, and community settings. The Mentor works one-on-one with assigned individuals to promote emotional growth, social development, independence, and positive decision-making. This role focuses on being a consistent, supportive presence while modeling healthy behaviors and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Build positive, professional relationships with assigned individuals
- Provide one-on-one mentoring focused on personal growth and goal achievement
- Support development of life skills, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities
- Assist individuals in managing emotions and developing healthy coping strategies
- Encourage positive peer interactions and community engagement
- Plan and facilitate structured activities that align with individual goals
- Provide transportation and accompany individuals to approved community activities (if required)
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including progress notes and time logs
- Follow individualized service plans and behavioral guidelines
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and team members
- Attend required meetings and trainings
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or related field)
- Experience working with youth and/or individuals with developmental or behavioral needs preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (if transportation is required)
- Ability to pass required background screenings
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Pay: $15.49 - $20.00 per hour
