What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Manager position at A C Electrical Systems?
About the role:
We are looking for a dependable, organized, and hands-on Warehouse Manager to oversee our warehouse operations, inventory, purchasing, equipment, vehicles, and logistics. This position plays an important role in supporting our field crews by making sure materials, tools, equipment, and vehicles are where they need to be.
What you'll do:
- Create daily schedules and delivery routes for all job deliveries and job clean-outs.
- Make occasional deliveries and transport equipment to job sites to supplement driver schedules and deliveries. This position requires the ability to safely operate a truck and trailer.
- Receive daily material orders from field crews and fulfill orders using shop inventory and vendor purchases.
- Price materials from local vendors and compare pricing from online sources, including electrical suppliers, eBay, Amazon, and other online vendors.
- Coordinate ordering and delivery of job kick-off tool lists and material lists.
- Record and track all shop-stock materials sent to job sites.
- Receive and check in all incoming materials and equipment delivered to the shop and store them until they are needed at a job site.
- Purchase stock materials and maintain an up-to-date list of preferred vendors and best available pricing.
- Coordinate vehicle and equipment maintenance and maintain accurate maintenance records for all vehicles and equipment.
- Track the location of gang boxes, ladders, tools, and other equipment using the company’s tool-tracking system.
- Maintain purchase, repair, and maintenance records for company tools and equipment.
- Oversee property maintenance for several off-site properties.
- Review and approve purchasing invoices for accuracy.
- Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient warehouse and shop environment.
- Communicate regularly with field personnel, drivers, vendors, and management to ensure materials and equipment needs are met.
Requirements we're looking for:
- Previous warehouse, logistics, purchasing, construction, or operations management experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple requests and meet deadlines.
- Good computer and record-keeping skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to research and compare vendor pricing to make cost-effective purchasing decisions.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to safely operate company vehicles and pull a trailer.
- Ability to lift, move, and organize materials, tools, and equipment as needed.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Experience with inventory or tool-tracking systems is a plus.
- Construction or electrical industry experience is a plus.
