Job Summary
The In Home Caregiver plays a vital role in providing compassionate and personalized care to individuals in their homes. This position involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting their overall well-being. Caregivers will work closely with clients who may have developmental disabilities, autism, or require assistance due to aging or health conditions.
Duties
- Provide personal care services such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Assist clients with mobility and transfers, including lifting when necessary.
- Monitor and record vital signs as needed.
- Support clients in daily activities and encourage independence.
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding when required.
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals regarding care plans and client progress.
- Document care provided and report any changes in client condition.
Skills
- Experience in social work or home care is preferred.
- Familiarity with group home settings and working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Strong patient monitoring skills to ensure the health and safety of clients.
- Ability to lift clients safely and provide physical support as needed.
- Compassionate demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR is beneficial.
