Role Description The Medical Assistant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Nashville, TN. Day-to-day responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, updating medical histories, and assisting providers during examinations and minor procedures. The Medical Assistant supports patient flow, manages clinical supplies, prepares exam rooms, and ensures cleanliness and safety standards are met. Additional tasks include handling phone calls, coordinating referrals, updating and organizing medical records, and providing clear instructions to families regarding follow-up care. This role requires consistent, compassionate interaction with children and their families while collaborating closely with providers and the front office team.
Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong Medical Assisting skills, including clinical support and basic diagnostic procedures.
  • Candidates should possess knowledge of Medical Terminology to communicate effectively with providers and document accurately.
  • Candidates should possess experience in a Medical Office setting, including scheduling, handling phone calls, and coordinating patient flow.
  • Candidates should possess Patient Care skills, with a focus on pediatrics, family-centered communication, and empathy.
  • Candidates should possess ability to manage and maintain accurate Medical Records, including electronic health records (EHR).
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program; certification (e.g., CMA, RMA) preferred.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced pediatric environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a small team, maintain patient confidentiality, and uphold professional and ethical standards.
