Adult Foster Living (AFL) Provider/ 1 on 1. – Independent Contractor (1099)
Job Summary
A Brighter Day Community Supports is seeking compassionate and responsible individuals to serve as Adult Foster Living (AFL) Providers. This is a 1099 independent contractor role in which the provider supports an adult with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in the provider’s private home.
AFL Providers offer daily care, supervision, and skill-building support in a family-style living environment. Compensation is provided as a daily or monthly stipend based on the individual’s level of need.

- Independent Contractor (1099)
- Live-in / home-based service model or, 1 on 1.
- Not an hourly or shift-based position
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, stable, and supportive home environment
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed
- Support skill development, independence, and community inclusion
- Provide supervision appropriate to the individual’s assessed needs
- Administer or assist with medications as trained and authorized
- Participate in person-centered planning
- Maintain required documentation and communication with the agency
- Comply with Medicaid, LME/MCO, and agency requirements
Home Requirements
- Provider must own or lease a suitable private residence
- Home must pass safety and environmental inspections
- Willingness to allow monitoring and home visits as required
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass criminal background checks, OIG exclusion check, and other required screenings
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license preferred
- Experience with IDD, behavioral support, or caregiving preferred (training provided)
Compensation
- Daily or monthly stipend based on level of care
- Rates vary according to support intensity and individual needs
- Not paid hourly; no overtime or shift differentials
