JOB DESCRIPTION: CERTIFIED ALCOHOL DRUG COUNSELOR (CADC)

Under the general supervision of the Behavioral Health (BH) Clinical Supervisor, the CADC will support clients in leading fulfilling lives. The CADC must be passionate about delivering excellent client care, exercising good judgment and initiative, working independently, and displaying good organizational and time management skills. A professional demeanor and appearance are required.
Job Overview:
The primary purpose of this position is to develop and implement personalized treatment plans, offer one-on-one counseling sessions, lead group therapy, and provide education on coping strategies and relapse prevention.
CADC Responsibilities and Duties:
Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' substance abuse issues.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Provide one-on-one and group counseling sessions.
- Educate clients and their families about addiction and recovery processes.
- Monitor and document clients' progress throughout treatment.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
- Facilitate referrals to additional resources or more intensive treatment programs.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate case files and documentation.
- Participate in continuous professional development and training.
- Conduct outreach and prevention education within the community.
- Provide crisis intervention when necessary.
CADC Therapist Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as psychology, social work, or counseling.
- Experience working in addiction counseling or related settings.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities such as CBT and DBT.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and manage crisis interventions effectively.
- Multilingual abilities are a plus.
- Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor (CADC) certification.
- Completion of a recognized addiction counseling training program.
- Strong understanding of addiction, including co-occurring disorders.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Commitment to ethical practices and confidentiality.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
