A. Autiello Construction Co.
Providence, RI Full Time
POSTED ON 8/27/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 2/22/2027

About the Role

A. Autiello Construction Co. is seeking a process-driven, highly organized Commercial Construction Project Manager to oversee and execute our growing pipeline of complex, technical commercial projects across New England. In this role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of project execution—from pre-construction planning through final closeout. You will serve as the operational anchor for our projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the high standards of quality our clients expect.

Ideal Candidate Background

We are looking for a technical, detail-oriented builder who excels at managing complex, specialized environments. The ideal candidate has a strong execution background in Academic, Life Sciences / Clinical Medical, or Industrial process / Manufacturing construction. You must be comfortable managing multiple fast-moving parts, communicating effectively with owners and design partners, and strictly enforcing construction standard operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution & Operations Management

  • Lead the day-to-day execution of commercial construction projects, maintaining full accountability for safety, schedule, quality, and budget.
  • Enforce and manage strict Commercial Construction Standard Operating Procedures, including RFIs, Submittals, Change Order Requests (CORs), and Substitution Requests.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with project superintendents, estimating teams, design partners (A/E firms), and subcontractors to ensure seamless field operations.
  • Manage a broad geographic footprint across New England, including project sites within a 75-mile radius of our core markets.

Scheduling & Resource Planning

  • Develop, maintain, and analyze master project schedules utilizing Primavera or MS Project.
  • Proactively track project milestones, critical paths, and long-lead material deliveries to mitigate delays.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external labor partnerships (both union and merit-based subcontractors) to optimize manpower and scheduling.

Financial Management & Procurement

  • Manage the monthly requisition process, review subcontractor invoices, and approve project cost controls.
  • Identify project variances early and formulate solutions-focused plans to maintain targeted profit margins.

Client & Stakeholder Relations

  • Act as a primary operational point of contact for Owner Representatives, institutional facility managers, and developers.
  • Lead weekly or bi-weekly owner-architect-contractor (OAC) meetings, providing clear documentation, progress updates, and actionable solutions.
  • Uphold AACC’s reputation by managing relationships with all stakeholders firmly, fairly, and friendly.

Skills and Attributes

  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in project scheduling software (Primavera or MS Project) and project management platforms (Procore).
  • Organization: Highly organized with elite attention to detail; capable of managing strict administrative compliance (RFIs, Change Orders) across technical builds.
  • Communication: Strong written, verbal, and professional communication skills required to interface with executive leadership, clients, and field personnel.
  • Problem-Solving: A proactive, self-motivated troubleshooter who resolves field conflicts and design discrepancies before they impact the schedule.
  • Safety & Teamwork: A strict advocate for job site safety and accountability; a team player who will not tolerate carelessness or laziness from project stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of dedicated experience as a Project Manager in commercial construction.
  • Proven track record managing projects specifically within the Academic, Life Sciences / Clinical Medical, and/or Industrial process / Manufacturing sectors.
  • Deep expertise in standard construction project management workflows (RFIs, submittals, change orders, contracts).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to regional job sites.
