Duties
- Prepare and assemble sushi dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Assist in menu planning and ingredient selection for sushi offerings
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station in compliance with food safety regulations
- Handle food preparation tasks including slicing, rolling, and plating sushi items
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures are followed at all times
- Support kitchen staff with general food preparation, cooking, and plating as needed
- Serve dishes efficiently while maintaining a high level of quality and presentation
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies for the sushi station
- Uphold excellent customer service by engaging with diners professionally and courteously
Experience
- Previous experience in a culinary setting, preferably in fine dining or Japanese cuisine
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
- Skills in knife work, meal preparation, and food presentation
- Experience with menu planning and catering is a plus
- Background in the food industry, restaurant experience, or dietary aide roles is beneficial
- Familiarity with food service operations, kitchen experience, and cooking techniques related to sushi is highly desirable
