Duties
- Supervise roofing crews, assign tasks, and monitor daily progress to ensure timely completion of projects
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, and suppliers to streamline operations and resolve issues promptly
- Conduct safety briefings, enforce safety standards, and maintain compliance with OSHA regulations on-site
- Read blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to accurately execute roofing designs and specifications
- Oversee the use of hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and heavy equipment to perform roofing tasks efficiently
- Manage material inventory, order supplies as needed, and ensure proper storage of tools and equipment
- Perform quality inspections to verify that work meets industry standards and client expectations
Skills
- Extensive experience in construction estimating, blueprint reading, and schematic interpretation
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, welding equipment, and heavy lifting techniques
- Strong background in roofing installation, repair, restoration, and waterproofing methods
- Knowledge of various construction disciplines including carpentry (trim carpentry), masonry (stucco), plumbing, metal stud framing, tile laying, concrete forming, fabrication, and remodeling
- Ability to read technical schematics and schematics related to roofing systems and structural components
- Skilled in using caulking guns for sealing joints and seams; experienced in frame carpentry and metal stud framing
- Familiarity with safety protocols related to heavy lifting, scaffolding use, welding safety practices, and hazardous materials handling
- Excellent leadership skills with handyman experience preferred for versatile problem-solving on-site
- Strong communication skills for coordinating teams effectively and ensuring clear understanding of project requirements
