Shipper/Receiver
Purpose/summary
Contribute to successful A&A operations by fulfilling shipping & receiving duties in the warehouse and maintaining our facility.
Reporting
The shipper and receiver reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor.
Duties and responsibilities
● Determine method of shipment and prepare bills, SDS sheets and other shipping documents.
● Assemble containers and crates, pack goods to be shipped, and prepare identifying information and shipping instructions.
● Oversee loading and unloading of goods from trucks, etc
● Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages and reject damaged goods.
● Unpack and route goods to appropriate storage areas.
● Maintain internal record-keeping systems.
● May operate forklift, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods.
● Heavy lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs
● Operates assigned power tools and light to medium duty in a safe and efficient manner.
● Performs a variety of related duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed.
● Performs a variety of grounds maintenance duties such as mowing, weeding, and light landscape work.
Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
● Know safe storage and handling procedures for various chemicals and materials.
● Know proper shipping procedures for transportation of dangerous goods.
● Able to understand the basic functions of manufacturing processes
● Comfortable multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks without guidance
● Demonstrated ability to read, understand and communicate in English
● Punctual with strong attendance history
● Heavy lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs
● Ability to receive and respond positively to constructive feedback
● Knowledge of standard equipment, hand tools, and power tools
● Able to work in extreme weather conditions and physically able to respond appropriately
● Ability to walk, stand, kneel and twist
Education and qualifications
● High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
● Drivers License required
