Field/Shop Project Manager

Overview

A&A Machine & Fabrication specializes in the manufacture of LDPE High Pressure Piping, Pressure Vessels, Standard Piping, Syngas Burners and Process Skids both Field and Shop.

A&A is also a full-service Machining facility, providing both Manual and CNC capabilities for the Petrochemical Industry.

Position Summary:

Plan, manage, and control all projects, including overseeing field foreman, site safety, productivity, schedule, quality, sub-contractor and supplier coordination and work in conjunction with the customer liaison to ensure strict adherence to guidelines.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities (Field):

• Job Site Walks and Estimating.
• Develop Construction Sequence & Schedule at job start-up and maintain schedule during project.
• Plan and supervise foreman and/or craft personnel activities - including determining method of construction, efficient manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, temporary facilities, work schedule and documenting actual hours worked.
• Understand project estimate and project budget.
• Reviews submittals prior to installation of work.
• Coordinate with the QC Manager a quality assurance plan to include but not limited to WPS’s, WPQ’s, NDE, ITP’
• Understand sub-contractor and supplier contract scopes and coordinate all activities.
• Establish the punch list process and close-out procedures with the customer.
• Schedules and procures tools, materials and equipment necessary for the project.
• Mentor and train other employees as necessary.

– Pre-Construction:

• Team approach in the development and management of the Pre-Construction Schedule.
• Provide technical expertise throughout the Preconstruction process.
• Participate in the Constructability Review and Value Engineering process.
• Develop site logistics plan.

– Safety:

• Ensure job safety requirements are understood and implemented by all project personnel and Sub-Contractors, while working with the safety support personnel as a resource.
• Watch for and correct all safety hazards at the jobsite.
• Continually strives for zero injuries on all projects.
• Report jobsite incidents/accidents in a timely manner to safety personnel.

– Client Loyalty:

• Understand and communicate to all field personnel the owner’s goals regarding construction.
• Maintains positive relationships with the Owners, Architects, Program Managers and Inspectors throughout projects.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities (Shop):

· Coordinate technical activities and scope of supply on projects and jobs.

· Ensure Bill of Material and Method of Manufacturing comply to customer specifications and internal QC policy (processes, procedures, and ITP).

· Determine sequence of operations to meet delivery date and produce detailed project schedule.

· Organize internal and customer Project Kickoff meetings.

· Prepare customer communications, technical documentation, and technical manuals for projects.

· Define quality requirements and targets and work closely with Quality Control Manager to ensure those are met.

· Jointly, with Quality Department personnel, ensure necessary supplier and process documentation and collected for final QC dossier.

· Interpret customer requirements and address manufacturing issues with production.

· Work closely with production managers to ensure schedule and specifications are being followed and provide technical support during projects.

· Manage project costs and regularly reviewed with internal stakeholders.

· Prepare and plan for unanticipated problems or issues.

· Issue change orders to customers and ensure purchase orders are revised in accordance with change order(s).

· Review progress of assigned projects and conduct project(s) review meeting as necessary.

· Utilize an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) computer system that tracks orders from quote to cash.

Requirements for consideration:

1. 5-10 years supervisory experience in fabrication shop; 3-5 years in superintendent role.

2. Experienced with fabrication of pipe, vessels, burners, complex designs, and structural items.

3. General understanding of metallurgy, welding procedures, and ASME Code.

4. Extensive knowledge of welding processes, such as MIG, TIG, SAW (sub-arc,) SMAW (stick rod) and FCAW (fluxcore).

5. Experience in fitting and welding of different alloys.

6. Computer literate, able to work with Microsoft office tools, and willingness to learn ERP software.

7. Previous Field work Supervision along with Shop Supervision will be preferred.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
