Join our dynamic team as a Dump Truck Driver and take charge of transporting materials efficiently and safely across various job sites. As a key player in our logistics operations, you will operate different types of heavy-duty trucks, including dump trucks,and tractor-trailers, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with all regulations. Your expertise will help keep projects moving forward smoothly while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate dump trucks, and tractor-trailers, and other commercial vehicles to transport construction materials, to designated locations.
- Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques or equipment such as skid steers and excavators when necessary, ensuring proper securing of loads for safe transit.
- Follow GPS navigation routes accurately to meet delivery schedules while optimizing routes for efficiency.
- Comply with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, and hazardous materials regulations when applicable.
- Maintain detailed logs of all trips, including mileage, fuel consumption, cargo details, and delivery documentation.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members to coordinate deliveries and pickups across multiple routes.
Experience
- Proven experience operating dump trucks, tractor-trailers, or similar heavy-duty vehicles in a commercial setting.
- Familiarity with route driving using GPS navigation systems for efficient delivery planning.
- Knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards related to truck driving.
- Experience in logistics cargo handling, load securing, and freight management.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and efficiently during loading/unloading operations..
