Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Small Engine Mechanic to join our dynamic service team. Your expertise will help our team to get back to work quickly with reliable equipment, whether it's lawnmowers, trimmers, or other small power tools. Duties
- Diagnose issues in small engines and related equipment using schematics and technical manuals
- Perform repairs on a wide range of machinery including lawn equipment, landscape equipment and power tools
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and tune-ups to ensure equipment longevity
- Repair electrical components, including wiring, switches, and soldering connections as needed. Troubleshooting skills are necessary.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy lifting techniques to complete repairs safely and effectively
- Test repaired equipment for proper operation and safety standards before returning to team members.
- Maintain detailed service records and communicate repair status clearly with team members.
Experience
- Previous dealership experience working with small engines or outdoor power equipment is highly preferred
- Proven service technician experience with mechanical repairs in small engine or equipment settings
- Strong knowledge of schematics, electrical systems, small engine repair, and general mechanical principles
- Hands-on experience with welding, soldering, and electrical troubleshooting techniques
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and specialized diagnostic equipment
