Position Summary
The HIV PrEP Navigator will be the primary point of contact for individuals seeking HIV prevention services. This role involves educating patients about PrEP and PEP, coordinating access to care, assisting with insurance navigation and medication access, and building relationships with local community organizations. The ideal candidate is passionate about sexual health, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with diverse populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one education to patients about PrEP, PEP, and HIV/STI prevention
- Screen patients for PrEP eligibility and support with appointment scheduling
- Assist patients with insurance coverage, patient assistance programs, and prior authorizations
- Follow up with patients to support adherence and retention in care
- Collaborate with pharmacy staff, prescribers, and community partners to streamline care
- Conduct outreach at community events and assist with marketing initiatives (optional, if relevant)
- Maintain accurate, confidential documentation of patient interactions
- Other related duties may be assigned by the Supervisor
Qualifications
- Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with diverse populations in a respectful and nonjudgmental way
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Preferred:
- Experience in healthcare, case management, social work, or community health outreach.
- Knowledge of HIV prevention, sexual health, or LGBTQ health
- Bilingual English/Spanish a strong plus
