Who We’re Looking For
979 is looking for a can-do solid communicator with maintenance skills to enhance our dynamic team as a valued Field Service & Maintenance Technician. This flexible Jack or Jill of many trades will be responsible for the expert care for a set of our portfolio of homes working with various team members from field hospitality managers to hired contractors to our 979 VPS Chief of Maintenance.
A week in the life might include: changing light bulbs, batteries, and AC filters, drywall repairs, toilet adjustments, electronic lock and thermostat installation/troubleshooting, indoor and outdoor light fixture and ceiling fan replacements, TV installations/replacements, door adjustments, creative furnishing fixes (chairs etc), grill replacements, deck board replacement and/or railing securing, power washing, light plumbing work, miscellaneous building projects, light painting and general troubleshooting typical house issues. This person has a team player mentality.
What You’ll Do
- This role will require you to balance urgency level and priorities levels on a daily basis.
- We are somewhat seasonal. You will most likely be busiest when people are taking vacations-ie weekends, spring break, summer, etc.
- For this business, flexibility is key to this salaried position. You are the boots on the ground when our homes are in need of a fix, a Guest has an issue, and also when we have a gap in the rental calendar to schedule a fix.
- Traveling between multiple home locations is a must. Must be willing to use your own personal and reliable vehicle.
- No task is too small (or below you).
- Other responsibilities, as determined, by the Chief of Maintenance.
Skills You’ll Need
- Strong Organizational Proficiency: balancing competing priorities on a day to day and potentially minute by minute basis is a big part of this job. You are the traffic controller of our home portfolio when it comes to identifying which homes need extra attention and fast. We rely on you to make decisions to keep the planes on course, in this case, guests and owners happy.
- Good Communicator: being proactive on communication with your various team members in a concise and clear manner is extremely important. It saves you and them much needed time.
- Reasonably Technical: we use several intuitive systems/software to manage various aspects of our business. While nothing is highly technical, we will want you to be very comfortable using a computer and Smartphone especially in the field.
- Home Care/Ownership Minded - as an extension of our owners (eyes & ears), you will need to be able to troubleshoot issues which may come up in your homes and either repair them and prepare recommendations for our owners.
- Report to our 979 VPS Chief of Maintenance and works with to coordinate complete coverage
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Pay: $40,000.00 per year
