911 Rapid Response is hiring 2 full-time Emergency Vehicle Upfitters / 12V Automotive Electrical Technicians to join our installation shop.
We specialize in custom emergency vehicle upfitting, equipping approximately 450 vehicles per year with emergency lighting, radios, mobile data terminals, computers, cages, and integrated electrical systems.
This is not a production-line environment. Every build is custom, requiring strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and hands-on electrical and mechanical skills.
Schedule
- Full-time, Monday–Friday
- 8-hour shifts standard
- After training: option for 4-day / 10-hour schedule
Key Responsibilities (Vehicle Upfitter / Installer)
- Install and wire 12V DC electrical systems in emergency vehicles
- Mount and integrate equipment including:
- Warning lights and emergency lighting systems
- Radios and communication systems
- Mobile data terminals (MDTs) and in-vehicle computers
- Vehicle cages, consoles, and accessories
- Perform basic electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Program and synchronize installed systems and components
- Read and follow wiring diagrams, installation instructions, and build specs
- Perform mechanical installation, mounting, and fabrication as needed
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced vehicle upfitting and installation shop
Qualifications
- Experience with 12V automotive electrical systems, vehicle wiring, or electronics installation (preferred)
- Background in automotive repair, electrical work, or technician roles is highly valued
- Ability to diagnose basic electrical issues
- Comfortable using hand tools and power tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Must have basic personal tools (hand tools required)
Training available for the right candidate with strong mechanical or electrical aptitude.
