The RTA serves as a clinical resource assistant to the technologist whom them work alongside. They will assist with moving and transporting patients as necessary, cleaning and disinfecting the exam table and room, and are also responsible for clerical duties within the department such as answering and directing phone calls appropriately, burning images on disc, and organizing necessary patient paperwork. The RTA may also act as the liaison between the patient, doctor and staff for several different communication needs with emphasis on strong interpersonal skill as the face of the radiology department.
