Position Summary:

90 Degree Benefits is seeking a full-time Claims Processor to join our team. This is a non-exempt position that will be responsible for determining insurance coverage, processing and resolving medical claims, documenting actions, and ensuring legal compliance. Applicant must have at least 3 years of experience in medical claims processing. Detailed job responsibilities and qualifications are listed below. After 3 months of onsite training in our Charlotte, NC, office, this position will work from home 4 days a week. Excellent pay, flexible hours, and comprehensive benefits offered.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of claim adjudication for medical, hospital, and vision for multiple groups in accordance with their plan document
- Works independently and also as a team member
- Processes accurately, as quantity and quality standards apply
- Ensures HIPAA compliancy with protected health information and/or data of sensitive nature
- Provides assistance to customer service for claim inquiries and resolution
- Performs other related duties, as assigned
- Provides back-up support to team members, as required
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; preferred higher education in related field
- Required plans and claims processing
- Experience working with TPA preferred (candidates with this experience will be considered first)
- Possess a thorough working and CPT coding
- Application of coordination of benefits
- Understanding of Medicare and Medicaid
- Understanding of COBRA
- HIPAA compliancy
- Ability to interpret client plan documents
- Excellent communication, organizational, and follow-up skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Strong attention to detail
