Summary/Objective: We are seeking a motivated and energetic Sales Representative – Broadband Services to join our team. The ideal candidate will drive growth by generating new service subscriptions, cultivating customer relationships, and supporting community outreach in the Lac du Flambeau service area. This role combines strong sales acumen with community engagement and helps build our customer base through direct outreach and excellent service.

Essential Job Functions: Specific duties include, but are not limited, to the following:

Lead Generation & Outreach:

  • Conduct doortodoor outreach in residential neighborhoods and visit local businesses to promote Eighth Fire’s broadband services.
  • Coldcall and follow up on prospects to generate interest and convert leads.
  • Participate in community events, local gatherings, or public outreach to raise awareness about our services.

Sales & Client Acquisition:

  • Present service plans, pricing, and benefits clearly and persuasively to potential customers.
  • Assist interested customers through the signup process, ensuring accurate capture of customer information and plan details.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly subscription or sales targets for our broadband services.

Customer Relationship Management & Retention:

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with new and existing customers to ensure satisfaction and encourage wordofmouth referrals.
  • Address customer questions, concerns, and objections professionally.
  • Collect feedback from customers and relay it to the support and operations teams to help improve service and offerings.

Product Knowledge & Community Representation:

  • Maintain indepth knowledge of all available service plans, pricing tiers, installation timeframes, and service benefits.
  • Represent Eighth Fire Communications professionally, reliably, and with strong integrity in all customer and community interactions.

Administrative & Reporting Duties:

  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, leads, and sales in our CRM or tracking system.
  • Provide regular sales activity updates and forecasts to management.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (customer service, installation/technical teams) to coordinate service activation and followup.

Work Environment & Travel :

  • This role involves frequent community outreach, doortodoor visits, and travel throughout the service territory.
  • Some officebased work is required for customer data management, followup calls, and coordination with internal teams.
  • Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required to meet prospective customers or attend community events.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • 1 years of experience in sales or customer service, with a strong customer engagement focus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage positively with community members.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and enter data into customer tracking or CRM systems.
  • Basic computer fluency (e.g., Microsoft Office, email, CRM tools).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience selling broadband, telecommunications, utilities, or services to residential or business customers.
  • Familiarity with internet, fiber, or broadband technology (even at a basic level) — to help explain services to customers.

Travel Requirements: Requires travel within the service territory.

  • Ability to walk and travel throughout the community daily for outreach visits and customer appointments.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods for administrative duties (calls, data entry).
  • Comfortable with occasional light lifting or carrying (e.g., carrying brochures, demo materials), though heavy lifting is not expected.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time, non-exempt position with 40 hours per week expected. Days and hours of work are primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00a to 4:30p. However, occasional weekend hours are required as job duties demand. Flexibility as needed for attending community outreach, customer appointments, or events.
