Job Summary
Logistics Broker supports the coordination of freight between shippers and carriers. The broker will assist in booking loads, communicating with carriers, tracking shipments, and providing customer support.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in matching available freight with qualified carriers
- Communicate with carriers and customers via phone, email, and messaging systems
- Help negotiate freight rates under the guidance of senior brokers
- Track shipments from pickup to delivery and provide status updates
- Resolve basic issues related to delays, route changes, or documentation
- Maintain accurate shipment records in company systems
- Learn and follow transportation regulations and company procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Open deck (flatbed, step-deck, or specialized freight) experience preferred but not required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn logistics software
