This Business Valuation Senior Analyst role is a great opportunity for anyone passionate about business valuation and is looking to step into a highly visible role with sophisticated clients. SCOPE OF WORK
- As a member of the Litigation & Valuation practice, this individual will primarily work with our family law team conducting valuations for marital dissolution as well as gift and estate tax planning
- Review financial documents and distill financial information into reporting tools to support clients and attorneys in decision-making and settlement, as well as performing analyses and creating reports for use in mediation and at trial when needed
- Identifies the most effective means of meeting engagement objectives, including the use of technology and the right mix of procedures and personnel
- Works diligently to support and build relationships with key stakeholders at client organizations to continue to foster a long-term partnership between the LBMC Litigation and Valuation Department and external clients, attorneys, and other financial professionals
- High-performing individuals will be alert to client needs for the possible expansion of services to other LBMC Family of Company service lines
- Act as client consultant throughout the determination of services needed, engagement timeline planning, delegation of tasks to additional team members, resolution of project roadblocks, and presentation of all findings
- Perform diversified FVS assignments utilizing customized financial models or pre-prepared templates to present findings from historical financial statements and comparable company financial analysis compilations
- Collect appropriate data from internal and external sources (client documents, S&P Capital IQ, government data, etc.) and perform research on economic, industry and market trends impacting the entity being analyzed
- Continue to develop technical skills in business valuation as work experience increases and apply those skills to work performed for clients
- Sees training and development of Staff Analysts as important part of job and necessary in order to progress to a manager level position with the firm
- Adheres to LBMC’s defined processes and procedures including the firm's policy on privacy and client confidentiality. Knows and follows the rules, regulations, and the Code of Professional Conduct of the AICPA, the Tennessee Society of CPAs, the Tennessee Board of Public Accountancy, and other regulating bodies as appropriate
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Completion of (or actively working towards) a relevant industry certification (e.g., ABV, ASA, AM, CFA)
- 3 years of Business Valuation or Financial Planning and Analysis Experience
- Preferred Experience with Advanced option pricing modeling for the valuation of earnouts and stock-based compensation
- Advanced Monte Carlo simulation modeling for the valuation of earnouts and stock-based compensation
- Valuations related to purchase price allocations (ASC 805) is a plus
- Willingness to travel to client sites and/or attorney offices as requested
- Proven ability to work independently on projects and provide a high level of customer service to clients, attorneys, and general project stakeholders
- Experience in family law would be preferred, but is not required
