Position Overview

The General Technician supports the day-to-day operations and upkeep of the Miami International Airport (MIA) Consolidated Rental Car (ConRAC) Facility. This role focuses on performing general maintenance tasks, cleaning, and assisting with facility improvement projects to ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment.

This position plays an important supporting role within the operations and maintenance team and will receive hands-on, on-site training across a variety of equipment and systems.

Location: Miami International Airport Rental Car Facility

Reports To: Maintenance Manager / Operations Manager

Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week); 2nd or 3rd shift (evening/overnight)

Compensation: $21.00 – $25.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, plus full benefits package including medical insurance with dental and vision options, HSA (with HDHP plans), 401(k) match, and paid time off.

Qualifications

•         Ability to perform manual labor in a physically demanding environment
•         Physical ability to lift 60 pounds, stand for extended periods, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and operate in varying indoor/outdoor conditions
•         Basic familiarity with hand tools and power tools
•         Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
•         Ability to work independently and as part of a team
•         Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
•         Valid driver’s license preferred
•         No prior experience required; on-site training will be provided

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•         Perform general facility upkeep including cleaning, pressure washing, and routine maintenance tasks
•         Assist with painting, surface preparation, and facility improvement projects
•          Support caulking, sealing, and minor repair work throughout the facility
•          Perform trash removal, general cleaning, and upkeep of common areas
•         Assist with high dusting and cleaning of facility structures
•          Support preparation of the facility for weather-related events
•         Assist maintenance team with basic repairs across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
•         Support inspections and preventative maintenance activities as directed
•         Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized manner
•          Respond to general service requests from operations team and Rental Car Companies (RACs)
•          Follow all safety procedures and company policies at all times
•        Perform other duties as assigned to support facility operations
•         Shows a positive attitude and willingness to help customers and team members
