Quality Assurance & Control Technician (QA) - Farmers Branch

Locations:      Farmers Branch Central Kitchen (TXCK )

• Full-Time starting immediately $20-21.00/hour.

Experience & Qualifications: 

• Post-secondary education in, Food Science, Chemistry, or Microbial or Biological Science Two (2) - Four (4) years of College or University Degree
• Able to work in environments such as cooler, freezer, and handle hot bakery items.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Bilingual (English /Spanish; /Vietnamese; /Cambodian; /Chinese) as an asset

Responsible for

• Understand and Support Daily, Weekly, Monthly checklist for QAFS policies and procedures.
• Work with Chef, Supervisor, Plant Manager, QA/QC team and all other facility personnel to ensure food quality assurance and control pertaining to food safety.
• Report issues for products, process, and storage if not in non-compliance, and program deviation
• Complete the QA /QC daily operation checklist as to in processing quality control and quality assurance reports, as food safety, microbial, sanitation, and monitoring deemed necessary.
• Follow and train production employees to address daily issues as temperature, sanitation, pest control, specifications, foreign objects, analytical and packaging specs, etc.
• Train and follow the employee training tasks regarding the principles and practices of HACCP, SOPs, SSOPs, GMPs, and pest control, sanitation, lab testing, and recall procedures.
• Translate documents English/Spanish and or English/ Vietnamese QAFS policies and procedures.
• Understand and participate in problem-solving sessions for customer complaints, 2^nd or 3^rd audit.
• Conduct visual, smell, and or sensory and microbiological evaluations of products with report, finished product specification report, temperature records, receiving records and products quality records.
• Arrange and organize retain samples, shelf-life sample, R&D sample, product / in process sample.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Act as contact person if other team members is not on duty.

Other Duties:

• Understand and use of a computer and Microsoft Office products Word, Excel, PPT, outlook
• Be able to read instruments, gauges, and charts.
• Be able to perform simple math calculation.
• Read the thermometer, metric, use scales, weights, measure rulers.
• Use of Camera and upload USB or memory card to computer.

Physical

• 1. Stand and/or sit for extended periods of time.
• 2. Need to obtain samples; may require climbing, stretching, walking, lifting, bending, carrying.
• 3. Be able to move in narrow spaces.

Qualifications

Experience & Qualifications:  

Junior to High School with Two (2) - Four (4) years of production in checking quality and quality control in bakery and food production,

• Bilingual (English/Spanish and or English/ Vietnamese and or English / Cambodian and or English / Chinese) in writing and speaking are highly preferred.
• Able to work in environments such as cooler, freezer, and handle hot bakery items.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

This position requires moderate physical activity. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including moderate lifting (50 pounds), walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting and use of heavy machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, etc. This position requires nearly continuous standing and walking, repetitive hand motions, and reaching overhead. Employees may be exposed to unusual elements including extreme temperatures of coolers and blast freezers.
