About the Job: The Medical Assistant is responsible for performing delegated clinical and administrative functions in the care of patients, under the direct supervision of a provider and Practice Manager. What You’ll Do: Participate in patient care in person, via telephone, and telehealth under provider supervision. Administer prescribed medications, treatments, immunizations, and perform point-of-care testing. Collect and screen patient history and health-related information; communicate findings to providers. Document care activities accurately in the medical record. Assist with pre-visit preparation, including coordinating testing and patient outreach. Perform administrative duties such as medical records and patient service tasks as needed. Mentor and train new staff as directed. Attend ongoing education programs and maintain annual competencies. Adhere to safety, infection control, HIPAA, and confidentiality guidelines. Maintain current certifications, including Basic Life Support. Who You Are / Requirements: Education: High School diploma or GED required. Completion of a Medical Assistant Program or 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant. Preferred: Associate’s Degree. Licensure/Certification: Current BLS/CPR certification required. Preferred: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA AAMA), or ABR-OE. Experience: Previous experience in a patient-facing role required. 3 years of experience required without completion of a Medical Assistant program. Preferred: One year experience in a medical practice or healthcare setting; direct patient care experience strongly preferred. Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of medical terminology, office workflow, EMR systems, and Windows-based applications. Skilled in standard precautions, confidentiality, interpersonal communication, and time management. Ability to multitask, adapt to changing environments, and work as part of a team.
