IT Intern

84 Lumber Company is currently seeking college students to join our team for a summer internship. The goal of the internship is to apply classroom instruction to real world experiences in addition to continued learning through on the job instruction. The successful candidate will be expected to execute tasks as directed, listen, observe, and ask meaningful questions to gain a deeper understanding of IT business operations as well as 84 Lumber in general. The candidate will be included in relevant discussions regarding the IT environment, projects the department is working to deliver and interactions with vendors & business partners.

• Setup and install computer equipment (computers, monitors, network equipment, etc.)
• Assist with managing technology inventory
• Assist 84 Lumber associates with technology related requests/issues and general troubleshooting via Service Now.
• Assist with technical documentation
• Assist with Project Management and general IT administration tasks
• On-the-job training while gaining practical expertise in critical technology areas including Voice/data networking, firewalls, servers, security, storage and monitoring

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Able to work with and meet established objectives, priorities and deadlines
• Be pursuing a relevant field of study (computer science, information technology)
• Have the ability to work, at a minimum, May through August (M-F) of the internship year
• Ability to pass drug test/ consent to criminal records background check.
• Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs.
• Consistent access to reliable transportation

• Pursuing a degree in information technology.
