Field Tech  – Repair & Installation Support

Location: La Vergne, TN

Summary:
The Field Tech is a specialized role responsible for ensuring trusses are properly installed, repaired, and aligned in the field. This role supports the plant’s quality and installation standards by performing truss repairs, straight edging bottom chords for level ceilings. This position is ideal for detail-oriented individuals with experience in truss systems, construction, or field repair work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform repairs on trusses in the field, correcting design or manufacturing errors.
• Follow all safety protocols while working at heights or around heavy equipment.
• Collaborate with the plant and installation teams to identify and correct issues quickly.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Document repair work and any design deviations for quality control.

Qualifications: 

• Experience in truss construction, repair, or installation is highly preferred.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting truss and architectural plans, including measurements, angles, and alignment procedures.

• Skilled in operating power tools such as saws, drills, and nail guns for cutting, shaping, and assembling wood materials.

• Ability to measure and mark materials accurately using rulers, squares, and marking gauges.

• Comfortable working at heights and in outdoor construction environments.

• Ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials safely.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

• Knowledge of and adherence to safety protocols to prevent workplace accidents.

• Capable of inspecting work for quality and ensuring construction meets specifications.

• Experience repairing or reinforcing damaged frameworks and structures.

• Strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills to complete projects on schedule.

• Ability to train and mentor new team members in wood framing techniques.

• Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills for precise construction work.

• Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of construction safety standards and OSHA requirements.
• Ability to identify potential truss issues before installation.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs to 75lbs.
• Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Must be able to climb ladders and work on elevated platforms.
