MAINTENANCE

Job Summary:  

To perform a variety of maintenance and non-routine cleaning tasks as assigned at any location. The position will assist with repairs in electrical, heating, mechanical, plumbing and other areas.  The position will not preclude the use of outside contractors. Outside contractors or management personnel will still be used as deemed necessary by management.

All job positions at 7 17 Credit Union may be assigned further duties with or without notice, verbally or in writing.  Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. 

Primary Duties:

1. Open the assigned building daily.  Visually inspect all areas of the building to ensure that the building is safe to enter.  Prepare the building for daily operation.
2. Perform repairs in electrical, heating, mechanical and plumbing area.
3. Perform installations, painting, plastering and carpentry work.
4. Maintain hard surface floors.  Strip and wax regular tile floors.  Clean carpet.
5. Order/pick up variety of materials and supplies as assigned.
6. Participate in inspections and inventories as assigned.
7. Receive incoming shipments for store room and deliver inventory to departments as needed.
8. Maintain vehicle.

Secondary Duties:

1. Set up conference rooms as needed for meetings, lectures or special events.
2. Move furniture.
3. Clean up in emergencies.
4. Assist with housekeeping duties as assigned.
5. Maintain all building light fixtures and outside lights.
6. Ensure that the store room is kept neat and orderly.
7. Maintain landscaping at the Larchmont Branch and Corporate Building.
8. Remove snow around entrances and general areas.
9. Maintain routine policing of parking lot areas at building as assigned.

Confidentiality Requirements: Must keep Credit Union business in strictest confidence.

Travel Demands: Daily with varying hours.

Prerequisite Education: 

High school diploma or equivalent

Prerequisite Experience:  Minimum of two years experience.

Other Prerequisite Requirements of the position:

1. Previous experience in the maintenance field.  Two years experience is desirable.
2. Must be able to demonstrate a knowledge of and be able to perform repairs in the electrical, heating, mechanical and plumbing areas.
3. Ability to perform manual tasks requiring moderate physical strength.  Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds.
4. Able to perform painting, plastering and carpentry work.
5. Knowledgeable in cleaning methods, materials and equipment.

Certifications, licenses required once in the job: Valid driving license with a good driving record.
