Position Overview
Our Activities Assistants are expected to be out in the community every day—laughing with residents, facilitating activities, encouraging participation, decorating for events, leading one-on-one engagement, and creating moments that make residents excited to come out of their apartments and connect with others.

Position Overview
- Lead engaging daily activities with enthusiasm and professionalism.
- Spend the majority of each day interacting with residents—not sitting behind a desk.
- Support outings, special events, evenings, weekends, and holidays as operational needs dictate.
- Partner with the Director of Activities & Programming to continually enhance resident engagement.
- Someone who genuinely enjoys playing games with others and building relationships.
- Wellversed in card and table games and patient enough to teach residents at their own pace.
- Comfortable leading and participating in games including Hand & Foot, Swoop, Five Crowns, Rummikub, Dominoes, Mahjong, Kings in the Corner, 21 Blackjack, Bingo, Gentleman’s Poker, Bunco, Euchre, and similar games.
- Creative, energetic, dependable, and eager to introduce fresh programming ideas for both Assisted Living and Memory Care.
- Previous senior living, recreation, education, hospitality, or activities experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license required for resident outings.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and teamwork skills.
- Eagerness to assist with activity and event planning, logistics, and preparation.
- Comfortable seeking and sharing resident feedback and suggestions.
- Support with preparation, printing, and distribution of daily and monthly calendars throughout the community when asked.
- Comfortable communicating upcoming activities, events, celebrations, and resident engagement opportunities.

A Typical Day Might Include...
- Teaching a resident how to play Five Crowns for the first time.
- Joining residents for a Hand & Foot or Rummikub game.
- Leading trivia, exercise, crafts, music, or a nature walk.
- Decorating for an upcoming holiday celebration.
- Accompanying residents on a community outing.
- Spending oneonone time with a resident who rarely attends activities.
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the community.
- Push wheelchairs and assist residents as appropriate.
- Lift and carry activity supplies (approximately 25 pounds).
- Set up and break down activity spaces and events.
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Pass a drug and alcohol screening
