VP of Marketing / Head of Demand Generation

Our client is a lean and fast-growing AI platform that deploys intelligent agents for companies in staffing, insurance, and government. They're past early traction, have real customers, and are now building the go-to-market infrastructure to scale. They are currently seeking a VP of Marketing with strong demand generation to build the go-to-market machine that turns early traction into category leadership. This is a hybrid role based in the Bay Area.
The role
This is a hands-on demand-generation leadership role. You will own pipeline creation, sharpen positioning for executive buyers, and personally execute campaigns alongside a small team. Strategy matters here, but execution matters more. They are open to an experienced VP of Marketing or a strong Director/Senior Director ready to step into a VP-level mandate.
Day-to-day that means defining vertical positioning, launching and owning demand gen campaigns, building a repeatable pipeline engine, and evaluating the team to recommend what comes next.
What you'll own
- Demand generation: outbound, content, events, ABM, partner/channel, and executive thought leadership
- Positioning and messaging for C-suite buyers (CEO, CFO, COO)
- Sales collateral, case studies, website copy, and campaign narratives
- A marketing operating system: campaign calendar, metrics, reporting, and content pipeline
- A small marketing team, with input on future hires
What we're looking for
- Built marketing from scratch in a lean, resource-constrained org
- Demand gen track record measured in pipeline created, not campaigns run
- Sharp B2B messaging for executive and economic buyers
- Player-coach by nature - leads strategy, executes it personally
- Bay Area-based; available two days onsite per week in the South Bay
Nice to have
- Experience with account-based marketing or category creation
- Vertical B2B background selling to operational or financial buyers
- Exposure to staffing, insurance, or public sector markets
Salary : $230,000 - $330,000
