POSITION SUMMARY
The Benefits Administration Specialist will assist in processing much of the administrative information received (including protected health information) to assist in the daily operations of the benefits team. This position will also provide excellent customer service to those clients as well as offer administrative support to the benefits department. This position requires that you work in our Brentwood, Tennessee office during your 90 day orientation. After 90 days, the schedule will become a hybrid work schedule where the candidate will be required to come into the Brentwood, TN office two days a week (Thursday is a required day to come into office each week unless it falls on a holiday).
PRIMARY DUTIES | RESPONSIBILITIES
Must be organized and able to handle the following functions for multiple clients:
- Process benefit elections, terminations and changes with insurance carriers
- Enter benefit elections, terminations and changes into enrollment system and payroll systems
- Assist employees with enrollment and benefit questions via call center
- Process COBRA notices for all COBRA clients, post COBRA payments to appropriate accounts. Act as COBRA liaison for internal staff
- Reconciles various benefits statements on a monthly basis as determined by the benefits manager
- Respond to client and employee inquiries as assigned
- Direct insurance coverage inquiries to our advocacy manager
- Assist broker in obtaining quotes and other renewal functions
- Maintain client files and documents
- May attend benefit workshops and seminars to stay abreast of current requirements and legislation
- Provide on-going excellent customer service to benefit clients with regard to brokered insurance plans by benefit manager
- Assist with the processing of FSA claims
- Assist with benefit compliance and plan document preparation
- Ability to be work with team members in various departments
QUALIFICATION | SKILLS
- Two-year degree preferred, but not required, and/or equivalent experience in job related activities
- Must be skilled in all Microsoft Office Products
- Strong attention to detail and processes a must
- Teamworking skills a must
- Must be able to learn multiple software systems
- Excellent communication skills via email and phone
- Ability to multi-task throughout the day
- Ability to learn quickly and retain process knowledge
- Prior benefits experience is required
