Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate DSP to join our healthcare team.
A Direct Support Professional (DSP), provides direct support and care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, assisting them with daily living activities, personal care, and promoting independence and community integration.
Core Responsibilities:
- Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):This includes helping with personal hygiene (bathing, dressing, grooming), meal preparation, and housekeeping tasks.
- Promoting Independence and Skill Development:DSPs support individuals in developing life skills, such as communication, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- Behavior Support and Crisis Intervention:DSPs implement behavioral support plans, de-escalate challenging behaviors, and provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Documentation and Record Keeping:DSPs maintain accurate records of daily activities, observations, and progress towards goals.
- Advocacy and Communication:DSPs advocate for the rights and needs of the individuals they support, communicating effectively with team members, families, and other stakeholders.
- Transportation:DSPs may be responsible for transporting individuals to appointments, activities, and other locations.
- Safety and Well-being:DSPs ensure the health, safety, and well-being of the individuals they support, maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
