Construction Laborer - 20.25$/hour

Position summary

This maintenance role supports the day-to-day upkeep of a residential property through repairs, preventive maintenance, apartment turn work, inspections, and emergency response. You will help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents while supporting building operations across multiple maintenance areas.

What you’ll do

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs in residential units.
• Handle general work involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, and carpentry.
• Address minor HVAC issues and coordinate major repairs or replacements when needed.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair household appliances.
• Paint units and complete drywall repairs.
• Repair and replace flooring materials as needed.
• Perform maintenance work for apartment turns.
• Maintain the maintenance shop and related inventory of supplies.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and address hazards promptly.
• Respond to emergency maintenance calls and participate in on-call coverage.
• Comply with workplace safety and OSHA requirements.
• Move throughout the building to address maintenance issues and meet with tenants, staff, vendors, and visitors.

What you’ll need

• High school diploma or equivalent, and/or prior handyman experience preferred.
• Knowledge of safety practices, building codes, and use of maintenance tools and equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• EPA 608 Universal, S12, S13, S95, or P99 certification, or ability to obtain required certifications.
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Yardi.
• Valid work authorization.

Physical requirements

• Ability to move throughout the building and access small spaces for inspections and repairs.
• Ability to go up and down stairs as needed.
• Ability to lift and move objects over 50 lbs.
• Comfort working in varying environmental conditions.
