Summary:
The primary function of a Brewista is to cultivate kindness with every customer and fellow employee. The guest is our main focus, and we always have genuine interactions with open body language and a smile A Brewista is responsible for following the established operation procedures during any given shift. This position is classified as a non-exempt, hourly position. Brewistas report directly to the Stand Manager. A Brewista must be fully proficient in all Brewista responsibilities. A Brewista supports the stand by modeling the required behaviors throughout the shift so the integrity of our values, product, and service are maintained throughout each shift. A Brewista exemplifies our values and culture every day, and is a reliable, team member that can handle stressful situations. The Brewista reports to their Stand Manager directly. All positions begin with a 6-month probationary period.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Must be proficient in all Brewista duties and skill sets.
- Understands the different levels of business and demands for each day and each shift and is able to identify operational needs and provide support accordingly.
- Is a true master of recipes, secret menu, and all regular processes and procedures, able to answer all the questions pertaining to daily operations.
- Works as a team and prioritizes operational needs especially during flow bottlenecks while working in any given position.
- Prioritizes the company and team's needs above their own. Treats everyone fairly.
- Is able to execute, follow, and model all operational procedures for weekly chores, checklists, and shift change duties.
- Follows procedural outlines generated by the Stand Manager to ensure minimal wait times during peak hours.
- Identifies operational needs and supports the team in following the plan created by the Stand Manager in a way that helps to ensure solid productivity during the shift.
- Maintains the morale, energy, and standards to include drink quality, customer interaction, speed, music, etc. and makes any changes when necessary per the Stand Manager's direction.
- Communicates immediately with their management team about relevant developments regarding equipment, supply level, and overall operations.
- Models positive behavior consistent with company standards and workplace expectations.
- Is proficient in our point-of-sale system software and hardware.
- All other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule Requirements:
- Works a flexible schedule, which can include early mornings (5 a.m.) and late nights (11:30 p.m.) as allowed based on local, state, and federal laws related to the age of the Brewista.
- Follows company procedure for communicating time off requests.
- Regularly works weekends and is available to work holidays, if necessary.
- Must request any needed time off at least 2 weeks in advance, unless the reason for the time off is related to a situation protected by local, state, or federal law.
Skills, Qualifications, and Physical Requirements:
- Organized and punctual while working with multiple projects and deadlines.
- Works well with multiple personality types under pressure.
- Can adapt to problems and implement solutions on the fly and under stress.
- Can lift up to 50 pounds.
- Can stand comfortably for hours at a time.
- Can climb a ladder and use a step ladder.
- Can stand, sit, kneel, twist, and squat as necessary to stock and clean.
- Can safely use a utility knife.
- Can quickly and cleanly operate any position in the stand during peak hours.
- Can maintain awareness of the shift's operation while working a position.
- Can create and maintain genuine, uplifting interactions with strangers.
- Can work carefully and quickly with hot water, coffee, glass bottles, and dairy products.
- Can work outside for prolonged periods, regardless of weather conditions with provided personal protective equipment.
- Can safely walk between and around cars in the drive thru lanes.
- Ability to obtain a passing score of 100 on applicable test every six months.
